Our 12-month warranty.

Every Restart device ships with a 12-month limited warranty covering functional defects in normal use.

Every device sold by Restart — New, Grade A, Grade B, or Grade C — is covered by a 12-month limited warranty from the date of delivery. The grade affects the cosmetic condition you can expect, not the functional coverage you receive.

What's covered

Functional failures under normal use, including but not limited to:

  • Battery that no longer holds a reasonable charge for the device's age and class.
  • Display defects: dead pixels beyond acceptable thresholds, backlight failure, touch layer faults.
  • Ports and connectors (USB, HDMI, charging, audio) that fail to operate.
  • Sensors, cameras, microphones, speakers, and wireless radios that stop working.
  • Internal component failures not caused by physical or liquid damage.

What's not covered

  • Accidental damage — drops, cracked screens, bent chassis.
  • Liquid damage and corrosion.
  • Repairs, modifications, or part swaps performed outside Restart's authorized process.
  • Cosmetic wear consistent with the grade the device was sold at (see how we grade).
  • Consumables and accessories beyond the original in-box contents.
  • Loss, theft, or damage in transit after delivery (file a claim with the carrier).

How to file a claim

Start from your orders and open a warranty request on the affected order. Include:

  • A short description of the issue and when it started.
  • Photos or a short video if the problem is visible or reproducible.
  • Any troubleshooting you've already tried.

We respond within one business day with next steps. If the device needs to come back for diagnostics, we send a prepaid label and aim to complete diagnostics within a few business days of receipt.

Replacement vs. refund

Our default is to replace a defective device with an equivalent unit at the same or better grade. If we can't source an equivalent replacement in a reasonable window, we'll issue a refund for the purchase price of the device to the original payment method. Transferability

The warranty is extended to the original purchaser on the order and is not transferable to a second-hand buyer. Business accounts with a wholesale agreement should refer to the terms in that agreement, which may modify the default transferability rules.
